Southville

Client: Mah Sing
Location: Bangi
Project: Southville City Sales Gallery
Description: To design the Sales Gallery and Show Unit for the launch of Sensa Residence, the final launch in the Southville City series.
Our role: Lead designer, space planning, decor styling

Drawing inspiration from the development’s focus on elevating living expectations via greener environments and outdoor activities within an urban setting, the Sales Gallery adopted hues of blue as the main palette. Representing nature’s elements, Aegean Blue is used on the walls and across the ceiling. A richer and deeper hue of blue is selected as the main upholstery colour. Several pockets on the floor sees the carpet in a distinct water-like print emulating streams.

Upon entering, a series of arch shapes welcomes one in, much like walking through a dense tree canopy or cave opening. Their negative spaces mimic the trees outside and are applied to window stickers, the marble reception counter, motifs on the walls and columns. The frosted patterned window stickers add a subtle hint of fun as the shadows cast by the sunlight constantly change during the day.

Placed around the largest scaled model island, the seating areas are positioned to facilitate small discussions as well as a nook for more in-depth conversations. A dedicated children’s corner sits opposite the bar, away from the other discussion areas providing sufficient distance but also a clear view towards it. Three different sized arch tunnels cover this space, housing an interactive Lego wall, a chalkboard wall for doodling, a TV and built in bookshelves. Small cylindrical holes in the wall cater for easy access and storage of drawing tools for the chalkboard and colouring books.

The design objective was to create a place of discovery, with luxurious touches synonymous with the properties for sale.
