Verve Suites is a four tower, 931 unit service apartment development in the heart of Mont’ Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. It was the first property of its kind to sell fully furnished service apartments in Malaysia.
We were able to influence some architectural structural decisions, helping to maximise space within the already compact apartments. Space was the key and we brought in secret rooms, moving panels and added extra storage wherever possible. The bathrooms featured sunken baths, something rarely found in a small home.
Striking a balance between the physical requirements of compact living and spatial aesthetics was the most important challenge to us.
A warm colour palette sets the tone of this unit. Off white provides the base to the palette with brown and black accents. Texture is created through the selection of deep cherry laminate flooring, reconstituted timber veneer joinery, tinted blue glass and walls are covered in vinyl.
The television storage cabinet in the living room, wraps the corridor leading to the bedroom, transitioning seamlessly between personal and social spaces. Increasing a sense of space is further enhanced at the kitchenette with a mirrored glass splashback, and tinted mirror is applied to the kitchenette island. This creates a lighter feel to an otherwise heavy element. Its strategic placement, divides the spaces between Kitchenette, Dining and Living areas.
The number of solid walls is reduced and sliding panels take their place in the bedroom, increasing light, opening connections and allowing better space division.
In the bathroom, the shower area is sunken so that it can also be used as a bath tub. The mirror tinted glass is only see through from the inside, maintaining privacy, yet still allowing light to enter. Motorised blinds provide additional privacy when required.
